Parent Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. They will be March 7th and 8th. I have created a Sign-Up for them and you can follow the directions below to sign up for a time. Each conference will be 15 minutes and I will be keeping those to 15 minutes so we don’t get behind. If we need more time we can schedule a time to meet after conferences. Please include your CHILD’S NAME when signing up for a spot.

Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps:

1) Click this link to see our SignUp on
2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.
3) Sign up! It’s Easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on

Remember that there is no school this Friday (December 8th).

Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival

The Annual HighMark Winter Carnival is this Thursday, December 7th from 5:30-8:00 pm.  Come and play games, eat food, bid on the silent auction, and more!

Wristbands are now available to purchase in the school office.  7.00 per wristband or 25.00 for a family of up to 5 people.  Wristbands will only need to be purchased for people wishing to participate in the games and activities.  Parents that are only there to supervise their kids don’t need to purchase one.  Wristbands will allow you access to all the games and bounce houses.

I can’t believe it is Parent Teacher Conferences already. I feel like school just started! However, I am excited to meet with each one of you and to talk about your students progress. Just a reminder that each conference will last 15 minutes and then if we decide we would like to meet at another time to discuss more we can make an appointment for a later date.

We are still collecting donations for our comfort kits. We need all the donations by Friday and then we will put the kits together next week. We have got some donations but I am hoping to get a bunch more so we can help as many kids as possible.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. This year has seemed to fly by already. PTC’s will be September 27 and 28 from 2:00-7:00. Each conference will last 15 minutes. I will keep these conferences strictly to 15 minutes so that we do not get behind and parents can get to other conferences for their other students. To sign up for a conference time please click on the link and it will take you to Once you are there it will walk you through how to sign up for a time slot. I am looking forward to meeting with you to talk about your student. If you have any questions please send me an e-mail.

Our Read-A-Thon is coming up on this Friday. Your students are able to bring their e-reader and any other school appropriate book(s) they would like. We will be reading independently,  as a class, and with our reading buddies. Your student has received a pledge packet with instructions of how to collect pledges. They will also be able to buy various things throughout the day. We will have a Sweet Shop where they can buy different treats and they can also wear slippers, brink a blanket and/or pillow, wear a hat, and many other things for $1. If you have any questions please let me know.

DNA Extraction

We did this during class today and many of the students showed interest in doing it at home. It is fairly easy to do and a great way to learn. I told the class that if they tried it at home and took pictures I will give them extra credit. I encouraged them to change something up. Try a different type of food, try a different kind of detergent, enzyme, etc. to see what would happen. I am so excited to see what your students try. :)
